Permit Expediting and Demolition Project Management Fee
Total Permit Fees That Go Directly To Jersey City At Various Stages (subject to change)
At our core, we understand the Jersey City demolition permitting process. And we want to navigate it on your behalf. We will fill out and follow all of the proper paperwork and workflows required to get your demolition permit.
Different vendors will need to be engaged at different points in the permitting process (i.e. oil tank sweep, asbestos inspections, etc). We have a preferred vendor for each step we will connect you with along with transparent pricing.
We will coordinate and schedule tasks with each of the vendors needed at the various stages, ensuring that all of the proper paperwork and steps are followed to yield an issued demolition permit and a completed demolition project.
We built our own software platform that makes it really easy to stay in touch with you. You'll get frequent updates on the status of your permit, and can chat with us through our portal. All of your documents and paperwork in one place.
We do not charge a margin or make money from your engagement with these vendors. 100% of the fees these vendors charge will go to these vendors and we will help you with the coordination of these vendors' scheduled tasks and corresponding paperwork. These vendors have been used by us personally through our own demolition projects and we highly recommend them.
The Jersey City permit process is admittedly a long one and will likely take 2-3 months. When I was going through it for our own house project, I was surprised by how long it took.
I also don't want to mislead you into thinking that "Permit Expediters" actually speed up the process. We cannot make the permitting process go any faster than the city allows. What good permit expediters, like us, do is stay organized, and respond to the portions of the permit process that are in our queue in as fast and timely a manner as possible. When we do that, the only wait times in the process are the standard review times of the city's process.
What we promise to you is that we will over-communicate the steps in the process so it is as transparent as possible. And we will show you when we go out of our way to check on status or unblock any issues the city may have during the review process.
There are also a few points in the process that only the owner of the property can perform. For those portions of work, we will schedule half a day to drive you around to the various city offices to get the necessary paperwork that only an owner can get. And we'll also prepare the forms that only you can submit, as the owner, and make it really easy for you to send them to companies like PSEG or Veolia when you are required to authorize a cut of utility services.
On the day of your demolition start, we will make sure that the necessary signs are posted, the temporary sidewalk is in place, the flaggers are on-site to direct traffic, and the city inspectors are scheduled. We'll also bring the extensive binder of paperwork that the city inspector or any concerned neighbor can review so that they know we are following all of the city's requirements and prescribed steps.
"As a homeowner going through this process myself, I felt like there was a lack of transparency. My goal with Demolition Concierge LLC is to fix that entirely and make this process smooth. This is why I started Demolition Concierge LLC"
